Vanguard’s Return and Retire Service manages the responsibility of dealing with older technology. As a new IT Lifecycle Plan is implemented so does a plan for the older technology need to be put in place – hard drives must be wiped of all data, original OS installed, buyers must be sourced and re-sold assets must be delivered. Assets that cannot be sold must be recycled or disposed off in a sustainable manner.

This is a managed process that you do no want your own staff performing – it can be lengthy, cumbersome and very expensive if not carried out properly. Certain older technology assets do have value and this return can be used to finance the new IT Lifecycle Plan and supporting services.
